Privacy Policy for ShiftPulse
Effective date: 18 August 2026
In short: ShiftPulse stores your shift schedule only on your own device. It does not require an
account, does not show ads, and does not track your activity. The only data that ever leaves your device is
anonymous crash/diagnostic information, sent automatically if the app crashes, to help fix bugs.
This policy explains what data ShiftPulse (the "App") collects, why, and how it's
used. The App is developed and maintained by an independent developer, contactable at the email address below.
Information stored on your device
The App stores the following locally, on your device only, using standard Android app storage:
- Your shift pattern (start date, number of on/off days)
- Your configured wake-up time(s), including any custom times, holidays, or overtime days you set
- Whether the alarm is currently enabled, and any pending snooze time
None of this data is transmitted to the developer, to Google, or to any third party. It never leaves your
device except as part of Android's own device backup system (if you have that enabled in your phone's settings),
which is controlled entirely by you and Google, not by this App.
Crash and diagnostic data
ShiftPulse uses Firebase
Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to automatically collect crash reports if the App encounters an
error. This helps identify and fix bugs. This data can include:
- Device model, Android OS version, and app version
- The technical details of the crash (stack trace)
- A randomly generated installation identifier (not linked to your name, email, or any personal account)
This data is governed by Google's
Firebase privacy practices. The App does not use any other analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Permissions the App requests, and why
- Notifications — to show your alarm and snooze-status notifications.
- Exact alarms / alarm & reminders — required for the alarm to fire at precisely the
time you set, the same permission the built-in Clock app uses.
- Battery optimization exemption (optional, you're asked to grant it) — prevents Android
from delaying or killing the alarm in the background.
- Run at device startup — re-arms your alarm automatically after your phone restarts.
None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit personal data — they exist solely to make the alarm reliable.
What the App does not do
- No user accounts, sign-in, or passwords
- No advertising or ad tracking
- No sale or sharing of data with third parties for marketing purposes
- No access to your contacts, location, photos, or other apps
Data deletion
Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data described above. Because the App does not use accounts,
there is no separate server-side account data to delete. Crash reports already sent to Firebase are retained and
deleted according to Google's
own retention policies.
Children's privacy
ShiftPulse is a general-purpose alarm clock utility not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
